I enjoyed my stay at Hotel & Resorts Saga Karatsu, though there were some aspects that could use improvement. The large room provided a nice view, but the carpeting was quite spotted and dated. The location was great, being near the seaside and walkable to the beach, but the dining options were hit or miss, with lunch being a bit pricey and mediocre. However, I appreciated the friendly staff who went out of their way to help me when I needed a last-minute ride to the train station.

Rooms

My suite was spacious at 68 sq/m with large windows that let in light. However, the furnishings and carpets felt tired and could use a refresh.
Service
6.0
Overall, the staff were friendly, though I did encounter some inflexibility regarding dietary needs at dinner which was disappointing. They did refund the meal cost, which was appreciated.
Location

The hotel is perfectly situated near the seaside and within walking distance to the beach and Karatsu castle. The convenience of a nearby store was a plus too.
Dining
6.0
Dining wasn't bad, but my experience with lunch was that it was expensive and not impressive. I did find the breakfast buffet above average though, which was nice.
Facilities
7.0
Facilities such as room service and free Wi-Fi were available and helpful, but the decor throughout felt dated, taking away from the overall experience.

My stay at Hotel & Resorts Saga Karatsu had its ups and downs. While the large suite I booked was bright and spacious, the overall decor felt dated, reminiscent of the 1960s. I appreciated the plentiful bathroom amenities and the friendly staff, even if their English was limited. Overall, it's a decent value for money, especially for the space, but some updates could make it more comfortable. 😊🌊

I booked a massive suite with a tatami room and great sea views. However, the decor was quite dated and could use some renovation.

The staff were friendly and helpful, though I noticed their English skills were limited. They went above and beyond when a manager drove me to the train station.

I didn’t dine at the hotel restaurant, but I did enjoy a coffee at a nearby café with a lovely view. I found the lunch at the hotel to be quite expensive and mediocre.

My stay at the Karatsu Royal Hotel was quite enjoyable. The location was excellent, just across from the seaside and within walking distance to a convenience store. However, the hotel's age showed with dated rooms and some maintenance issues, like the old carpet. Overall, it's decent for the price, but expect a few quirks.

Rooms
7.0
I had a semi-Western room with a sea view, which was spacious but the carpeting was in dire need of replacement. Still, that view made it a lot more bearable.
Service
6.0
While the staff seemed nice, I encountered a bit of rigidity regarding dietary restrictions during my stay. They weren't able to accommodate a gluten allergy, which was disappointing.
Location
8.0
The location was quite ideal. close to the beach and just a short taxi ride from JR Station. I appreciated the convenience of nearby amenities.
Dining
6.0
The dining options were not bad, with the buffet offering above average food, but it lacked that extra wow factor. I ended up exploring local restaurants for dinner, which turned out well.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities seemed sufficient, but I didn't use the onsen or restaurant during my stay. I did notice there was no WiFi in the rooms which was less than ideal.

I had a pleasant stay at Hotel & Resorts Saga Karatsu. The hotel has a fantastic location near the beach and Karatsu Castle, but the decor felt a bit outdated. The staff, particularly Mr. Suzuki, went above and beyond to ensure my daughter's safety with her nut allergy, which I truly appreciated. Despite some minor issues, overall, it was a good value for the spacious suite we had.

Rooms
8.0
The suite was massive at 68 square meters, with large windows that let in natural light. While the furnishings felt dated, the space was more than adequate for my needs.
Service
7.0
The staff was friendly and accommodating, and Mr. Suzuki's attention to my daughter's allergy proved invaluable. However, the kitchen showed some rigidity with dietary requests, which I found disappointing.
Location

The hotel is right across from the seaside and offers stunning views of both the beach and Karatsu Castle. It's also conveniently close to a convenience store and provide easy access to the town.
Dining

While the food at the hotel was above average for a buffet, it could have been better. Our experience was somewhat dampened by the kitchen's inability to accommodate a gluten allergy.

Overall, I had a decent stay at Hotel & Resorts Saga Karatsu. The location was good, right next to a convenient store and within walking distance to the beach. I appreciated the spacious family room that offered a nice view, although I did encounter a few minor issues like a wet bathroom floor from the shower. The dining options were above average for hotel buffets, though I faced a challenge with my gluten allergy that left me feeling a bit disappointed.

Rooms
8.0
The family room was quite large with a tatami area and a pleasant ocean view, though the carpeting had seen better days.
Service
7.0
While the overall service was courteous, I found the kitchen's inability to accommodate a gluten allergy somewhat inflexible.
Location

The hotel is conveniently located close to Higashi-Karatsu station and just a short walk from the beach, making it easy to explore the area.
Dining

Dining was decent, with an above-average hotel buffet, but they couldn't cater to a gluten allergy, which was disappointing.
Facilities

The hotel offers a range of facilities but I didn't take advantage of them during my short stay.
